PRE-FABRICATED SYSTEMS... WHY ?

Traditional plumbing techniques revolve around the premise that a plumber /  installer will choose the type of system that he feels is suitable for the contract in hand, will purchase the separate components needed, and assemble the entire system in-situ.

System Pre-fabrication, however, involves the assembly of as much of the system as possible in a factory environment, typically assembled on the outside of the hot water storage cylinder, or in a box.  At DPS we believe that this approach has numerous advantages...

1. The installer is not required to understand the full operation of the system installed.  This allows installers to fit relatively advanced systems that they would otherwise have to take time learning about before they could consider trying to apply.  Plumbers, or even DIY enthusiasts,  can choose from a host of pre-fabricated systems, safe in the knowledge that they has been designed to be easy to install.

2. Installation time is greatly reduced.  Pipework can be laid down in the cylinder cupboard ready to accept the system, which can be dropped into place, connected and commissioned.

3. In case of any problems with the system, the householder has two lines of help - from the installer, and also from us.  We will be able to provide installation and user instructions, as well as spare parts, as required.   Access to us via our web site (permanently marked on units) ensures that current or future householders will be able to contact us for help.  This is especially helpful to new householders, who are often unable to contact the original installers.

4. Factory assembled units have to be well-planned in their pipework layout.  All components must be accessible to service engineers, there must be no air locks in the pipework, and it still has to look good.  The use of CAD software, enables us to plan the entire system in advance, choosing the ideal locations for bosses and  pipe supports to ensure that pipework is straight, solid, and looks impressive.

5. Feedback - as time progresses, installers come to appreciate how their input, combined with that of other installers, allows us to evolve the system to meet their demands.  Any suggestions are taken firmly on board, and improvements can be designed into future systems.

6. There are a huge number of valves and controls available to system builders, and each has its application.  As an OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) we are kept well informed as to changes in technology on offer in the industry, and may even have some influence in their development.   This knowledge enables us to design more efficient systems, that perform better and are reliable.

7. Reliability is a very important issue.  A diverse experience with components on offer, allows us to select those that have proven themselves to be reliable, and are supplied by manufacturers who give the after-sales support you need.  We will, of course, supply systems and controls specified by our customers.  We will always do our very best to study in detail new controls we are asked to fit, and may suggest alternatives where experience has shown us better.
