Electric Heat Bank Thermal Store Systems

At DPS we have been heavily involved in the development of electrically heated thermal store technology, and can boast the most comprehensive range from any manufacturer.

Most domestic systems come under one of two categories:
1.  Stores that provide hot water
2.  Stores that provide both hot water and central heating.

We have developed two 'standard' systems to cater for each type.

System HBA

Mains Pressure Hot Water (100kW) with Thermostatic Temperature Control
Immersion Heater Controller
Ball Valve
All controls are wired
Cased as an option
Manual Fill Model removes the need for an overflow

To be used with Economy 7 or similar tariff.

System HB2000

Mains Pressure Hot Water (100kW) with Thermostatic Temperature Control
Pumped Central Heating 9 / 12 kW with Thermostatic Temperature Control
Central Heating Timer & Room Stat Thermostat
Low Water Level Cut-Out
Central Overheat Protection
Solenoid Filling Valve
All controls are wired
Cased as standard

When used with 18 hour low rate interrupt tariff, or similar, the HB2000 provides electric central heating at economy prices.

The store is designed to provide central heating for a continuous 2 hour period from stored heat.  The system removes the need for electric storage heaters in each room, replacing them with radiators that offer the same level of control as a gas central heating system.

Both systems make use of Low Noise Immersion Heaters, preventing the 'kettling' noise often associated with electric systems.

Both systems work on our standard Heat Bank Thermal Store principles to provide hot water at true mains pressure, and flow rates in excess of 30 litres per minute.

There is no requirement for cold water storage, booster pumps, or a boiler - all controls that are required are supplied factory assembled.  Units are also factory commissioned to ensure correct operation.

As the unit is vented there is no requirement for a trained unvented installer, and as there is no boiler there is no requirement for a Corgi registered (or equivalent)  installer.  The only skills required to install and commission are basic plumbing and wiring.

As with all our systems there is a huge scope for customisation, as shown by some of the options listed below:

Capacities from 100 to 1000 litres
Mains hot water outputs of up to 120 litres per minute (mains permitting)
Choose from any immersion heaters on the market
Choose from any suitable controllers or programmers on the market
Additional indirect heating coils - for use with solar panels, a boiler, or district heating
Anything else... let us look at your ideas and we may be able to design a unit to suit
