The Cleaning function (within Settings menu) engages the flue fan at maximum speed, thus enabling cleaning of the heat exchangers (by manually shaking the turbulators) during periodical maintenance.
The function only switches the fan on, and no other component.
The Cleaning function can Only be engaged - in fact, only appears as a menu option - if the boiler is 'off'. The boiler will consider itself as 'off' if the flue temperature sensor reads a value of 42 degrees or lower (during a shutdown/cooldown phase, the flue fan will continue to run after pellets stop feeding & the fire in the brazier extinguishes, until the flue gasses drop below this value - then the fan will stop & the flame symbol on the display disappears). Note that in this condition, the display panel will likely still read 'On', but the boiler is totally inactive.
However: Despite the above conditions being met, if the Auto Eco function is enabled, the Cleaning function will still not appear as a menu option even if the above conditions have been met and the boiler is inactive. It should be remembered that if the boiler is set to run in System Configuration 4, the Auto Eco function is automatically enabled. In this situation, the boiler must be turned off by pressing the On/Off button on the front control panel. Now, with 'Off' displayed on the panel, the Cleaning function will appear on the menu and can be activated.
The cleaning funtion will run for 2 minutes before disengaging. If Cleaning needs to be stopped prior to this point, press the 'Esc' key to stop it.
