Detect water flow...
FSX019 (FS22T)
22mm DZR Brass Flow Switch

Years of experience with the installation and use of flow switches has shown that there is a strong demand for a flow switch which will stand up to punishment on site, will not leak, will not burn out, and will not jam due to the ingress of small particles through the flow switch.

The D.P.S. Flow Switch uses a magnetic pick-up circuit to detect the flow of water through the solid wall of the body of the flow switch, without any mechanical connections, thereby preventing any chance of a leak. A small 'magnetic bullet' within the flow of water is lifted as the flow starts, and it is this movement of the magnet which causes the flow switch to activate - The Flow Switch must be fitted with the water flow upwards. The electrics are fully sealed and encapsulated, making the flow switch extremely robust and tamper-proof.

The bullet has a clearance of approximately 3mm all around, thereby allowing particles of dirt to pass straight through the flow switch without causing it to jam. Nor are there any internal springs or mechanics which can suffer from grit. A strainer should be fitted if the flow switch is to be used in incoming mains water to prevent larger particles from entering the flow switch.

Tectite Connections

To make the D.P.S. Flow Switch simple to install, and to ensure leak-free connection, the body is fitted with 22mm Tectite fittings, suitable for water pressures of up to 16 bar at 30°C, and 6 bar at 90°C, while allowing quick push-fit connection & disconnection to connecting pipework.

Where high flow rates are to be used, the FS22T can be supplied with an add-on kit which allows through flow rates of over 45 litres per minute and reduces the pressure losses across the switch.   The use of the kit will raise the initial switching flow rate from under 2 litres per minute to a rate set by an integral balancing valve or preferably a non-return valve.
