This tool is a simple method of working out the volume of hot water storage that is required. The figures are based on standard systems. Click on each type of outlet to add required number.
This tool shows the relationship between power, flow and temperature.

This tool shows the range of cased hot water cylinder sizes that DPS can supply. We offer four diameters providing a great deal of flexibility is needed. Bear in mind that the 530 diameter is the standard, with other diameters costing more.
The relationship between power, flow rate and temperature rise / drop arises in a number of problems. The most common may be to work out the minimum flow rate required through a boiler to maintain a set temperature drop, although other calculations include flow rates achievable through combi boilers or electric showers, or heating calculations concerning radiators or underfloor heating.
A more comprehensive way to calculate hot water and heating
loading.
A simple way to work out the size of central heating requirements of a single room. As such, this tool can also be used to work out required radiator sizes, as well as the heating requirements for a whole property, and hence the boiler size required for heating.
