units are only suitable for a vented boiler / heating systems with a
Feed & Expansion Tank. Based on Patented DPS Technology. Originally designed as a very fast recovery system, getting rid of the standard indirect heating coil used to transfer heat from the boiler to the store. This allows the full boiler output to be used to heat up the store. Whereas coils heat from the bottom up, allowing no control over the amount of water heated, the GX system heats the store from the top down making it possible to only heat up small quantities of water (and allows over-sizing for special occasions without having to heat the entire store in normal use). Also, as the top of the store heats first, hot water to taps is available very quickly, from a cold cylinder - be it only in small quantities for a few minutes. The boiler output will backup current hot water demand, adding to the effective capacity of the store in any given period. A 100 litre store can suffice a 3 bedroom house with bathroom and en-suite ! Return to boiler temperature control comes with the GX, and can help improve efficiency of condensing boilers, while also allowing return temperatures to be raised for some oil boilers.
